A Little Trip Down Google Logo Memory Lane
Google new logo has actually gone through several changes since the company started.
- Early Years: In the late 1990s, the original Google logo featured an exclamation point and a serif font!
- The Colorful Serif: The Google name was displayed for a long time in a serif font that featured solid, recognizable colors.
- Going Flat: Google underwent a dramatic transformation in 2015 when it adopted Product Sans, a simple, sans-serif font that serves as the foundation for the current logo. Simplicity and making the logo function well across a range of devices were the main goals of this change.
- The “G” Icon: Google uses a straightforward, vibrant capital “G” as an icon for its apps and services in addition to the full word logo.
Rather than a total makeover, this most recent gradient update is more of a subtle evolution. It adds a new, contemporary touch while maintaining the basic colors and familiar shape that we all recognize.
