Triple Murder in Delhi’s Karawal Nagar: Husband Accused of Killing Wife & Two Daughters on Raksha Bandhan

New Delhi, August 9, 2025 – In a shocking and heart-wrenching incident, a man in Karawal Nagar, North-East Delhi, allegedly murdered his wife and two young daughters before fleeing the spot. The horrifying crime took place on Friday night and came to light early Saturday, plunging the entire community into grief — more so as it happened during Raksha Bandhan, a festival celebrating family bonds.

Victims and Suspect Details

Victims: Jaya Shri (28) and her two daughters, aged 5 and 7 years, were found lifeless in their home in Bhagat Singh Colony.
Accused: Pradeep, the husband and father, is currently absconding. A police manhunt is underway to track him down.

What Police Say

Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple had frequent domestic disputes. Police suspect financial stress and large debts may have been a trigger for the crime.

“The accused had ongoing quarrels with his wife. Following a heated argument, he allegedly committed the murders and absconded. Search operations are ongoing,” – Senior Delhi Police official.

Crime Scene & Investigation

The bodies were sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem.
A murder case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Karawal Nagar Police Station.
Forensic experts have collected evidence from the scene, including fingerprints, possible murder weapons, and witness statements.

The Karawal Nagar neighbourhood is deeply disturbed — especially because the gruesome act occurred on a day meant for celebrating sibling bonds and family love. Locals have condemned the incident and called for stricter laws against domestic violence.
